Hey all! It has been a bit longer than I would have liked since my last post. I’m in the homestretch of my first semester of grad school! I spent most of today and the weekend finishing up part of my project on LGBTQIA+ books & materials and intellectual freedom. I still need to complete my research paper, but I’m getting there! I also need to complete a 30-minute presentation on a children’s illustrator, write one last book review, and write a short essay on publishing trends. So after another week or so, I’ll be done and will have a break until January 6!
Besides grad school, I’ve been doing a lot of reading. I started Tita Rosie’s Kitchen Mystery series and met the author, Mia P. Manansala at a local author talk. She talked about her upcoming books and her writing process, and I got her autograph on the second book in her series. It was a fun experience!

I’ve also been reading tons of other books. Here’s some of my recent reads and some books I grabbed from the library!

Besides reading, I’ve also been writing more. I finally started working on my first graphic novel, and I’m really excited about the progress I’ve made. It is a middle grade mystery, and I’ll share some with you all soon!
I hope to update in the next few days with some books coming out in December, as well as some book reviews.
Have a good week!
